    Hi All,

This has prolly been answered before (I have searched, overwhelmed though). I just bought a new Toshiba laptop that came with Win7 Home Premium. Can I dump the cert, change it so it'll work with Win7 Pro (I need the XP virtual machine), reload the modded cert and be OK? The cert is in XML format, is there an editor for this? Am I over-complicating things?

    TIA!

    Russ

    Yes, you are over-complicating.
Certs are not to be modified.
Just use Win7Pro OEM:SLP key to activate.

Hey, you just need to use the Anytime upgrade path. Just start the anytime upgrade and enter the slp pro key, preferrably the toshiba key. The process takes about 10 minutes, it doesnt touch personal data.
