Understand there is a registry hack that will allow a person to upgrade to Win Pro to Win 10 LTSB and allow you to take all your apps and data with you untouched. Need the hack and instructions on usage. Will be using en_windows_10_enterprise_2016_ltsb_x64_dvd_9059483 iso. thanks in advance for any help and\or tips
I didn't need a hack. I used PowerISO to extract the files to a different drive. Ran 'setup' from there and the option to keep all my files and settings was available. I don't know everything, so I imagine there is a hack. Just wasn't the route I took. Good luck!
That's not a howto go from enterprise 2016 LTSB to pro but just from normal enterprise to pro, by just changing the productkey.
Racking brains to remember, posted it ages ago and it worked, and if I remember correctly all modern apps junk was preserved. The post was lost when forum went pear shaped! Think this is it... Code: In Place Upgrade To LTSB 2016 ============================= Change EditionID and ProductName at registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion EditionID = EnterpriseS ProductName = Windows 10 Enterprise S Then just run setup.exe from LTSB ISO (extracted to a temp folder somewhere). Edit: Pretty sure a few others did it okay too.
In my linked post you will see I posted that I did it from W10 Pro to LTSB with no probs. In this thread I've posted that I recall others doing it with no problems too, confirmed in post by endbase. I've no idea about "from W10 Home" - never tried.
The link in the post you're refering at is not available. The quote from you, endbase used, is available. From Home > Pro is just simple entering the Pro key (the gVLK for use with KMS or the generic HWID Pro key, ending on 3V66T for use with HWID), it will upgrade to pro. And it seems logical that the regedit to enterprises would work, if it works on normal Pro installs.
