Hi Everyone Can I upgrade from windows 8 to Windows 10 or do I have to upgrade to windows 8.1 first and then to windows 10. Thanks Sandy2006
Did someone test it without upgrading to 8.1? I will have to upgrade a notebook to windows 10, at the moment there is windows 8 installed but the upgrade to 8.1 fails because of some driver errors this model has. So maybe it would be easier to upgrade directly. I someone tested it I would be interessted.
If you use Microsoft Media Creation tool, you can without any problem at all upgrade from a clean Win8.0 installation, without installing a single update. Just start Win10 setup.exe from your USB/DVD from Explorer inside an activated Win8.0, and you have a Win10 installation within short time. Don't believe all you read, trying it out is the best thing, and I have tried it out on several computers now. BUT if you are using the upgrade icon thing, then you are correct.
It is an Acer v5-573G. Regarding the complaibing people in the net it is a bigger problem to upgrade to 8.1 Already thought about going the easier way with 7 then 10
For systems running Windows 7 RTM or Windows 8.0 RTM that cannot be updated Service Pack 1 and Update 1 respectively; how can they qualify for the free upgrade? Persons running those releases will need to perform an offline upgrade using the .ISO file for Windows 10 which will be available From the link in lobo11 post.
Thanks Edwe and myhken. I will have access to this notebook on sunday so I'm trying to upgrade directly from 8 to 10 with the Iso.
Ok thanks coleoptere2007. I think thia will be solution B if the other way doesn't work. As for this also need to download the 8.1 iso
I have just upgrade Windows 8 directly to Windows 10 (without update to 8.1) and still gets activated
Nice! Should save me a lot of work and trouble. Will try it in some days too. Thanks Edit: upgrade from 8.0 to 10 worked fine with iso. Windows 10 was automatically activated!
