Upgrading from build 10240 to Build 14342 Offline

No, 14342 sounds like insider build

 

Download the ESD from the dedicated thread, make the iso using the ESD converter, click on the ISO to mount it, click on the setup.exe

 

Doesn't he have to be windows insider, hows he going to put the build he wants over 10240

 

He need to click on setup.exe.

To be fair to the OP, it should be explained that those insider builds are timebombed!! Beside of that, the OP mentioned his poor internet connection, to tell to download some GB's again, isn't the best advice!

To the OP: If you're not an insider, simply stick with what you have right now! As insider, and use the insider Builds, you're forced to download 'ton's' of GB's, most of them (99%) time bombed! Think about you like that or not and act regarding!

The latest 14343 has not timebomb.

Not sure if you ever learned how internet works, but using a good download manager you can download the ISO or the ESD across a week, during a visit on the closest internet cafe or whatever.

Otherwise how do you thing you can get the data needed to upgrade, by a miracle trough the startrek teleport or what?

 

Download the ESD, convert it and upgrade. That's all.

No need to be an insider, no need to use an MS account to upgrade to an insider version.

 

If you had read my post completely, you had also read that I wrote something about 99%!

Regarding the internet, in Inda are a lot rural areas with no any Telecommunication and/or Internet at all, and even more areas with very poor services!

But as usual, you could never stand simply to what's things in questions, you have to get insulting in any possible means! Very poor, just to say!

If you need 3 GB of data, you need 3GB of data, no matter where you live and how fast is your internet connection.

Assuming we have to wait some years for the startrek teleport, what matters is HOW to get tose data in the most practical way.

 

I have no idea about what's wrong on your setup.

That's the primary way to upgrade any windows version since the days of windows 1.0, why it shouldn't work now?

 

There's nothing wrong with my setup, brand new computer, Just won't take insider preview I guess

And I have MSA

 

You'll have to run Setup as administrator from within the running Windows 10 (orf Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1)!

 

I have upgraded this way any windows since win95 and trough any W10 build, no matter if released or TP

Perhaps the build 14343 is clearly not a TP one.

No timebombs, no no overlays, no Test preview branding, or whatever.
