This is just a point of information. I ran into this problem trying to upgrade my Windows 10 Professional Operating System from 1909-863 to 2004 19041.xxx. I kept receiving a error message that you can't upgrade from a USB Device. Turns out it has nothing to do with a USB device it deals with an SSD device that your trying to upgrade to. The solution to this problem is to make a small change to a Regedit file. Change this value in Regedit HK_Local_Machine/System/CurrentControlSet/Control From "1" to "0" Now you will be able to upgrade your Windows 10 Operating System SSD to 2004 19041.xxx Hope this helps.
