If you have windows XP it will not be possible to upgrade from XP to 7 directly, you have to make a new partion and then install windows 7 on it, I have windows xp sp3 and I tried upgrading but it didn't work.

this is still pre-beta version and I am not sure the upgrade works even from vista. You should try a clean install.

    thanks.

    i think will do that.

dual boot should work fine right?

also, later, what is the way to delete the windows 7??

as first i will install it on a secondary partition and if its good, will shift to primary and delete windows vista.

but if upgrrade is possible, it should be beter.

    can anyone else confirm?

If i remember correctly, when Vista was in the same stage of beta-testing, the upgrade option was just locked on those Beta DVD's. Honestly. these trial versions are for testing purposes only, they're never meant to replace the working, supposedly bought for some considerable price, operating system.

You are correct. Upgrading didn't show up until RC1.
