Hi everyone, Like the title of this thread, I'm looking forward to buying the Dell XPS 13 9343. It's a magnificient bezeless eyefinity laptop, but the default Windows 8.1 Core installed on it is a mediocre drawback. I plan to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro after purchasing the XPS 13 9343 like this: Since it's an OEM laptop, it must have that legendary SLIC stored inside its motherboard's ACPI. So I only need to enter an upgrade key found in the outside world of Internet, type it in, upgrade the 9343 to trial version of 8.1 Pro. Then, I activate it by typing in the Dell's OEM product key for Windows 8.1 Pro. My former Dell XPS 15 (2011-gen) also had just Windows 7 Home Premium installed by default. I upgraded it successfully to Windows 7 Professional using the way above. What do you experts think ? Will this work on the 9343 ? Thanks a lot to whoever helps me out
FYI OEM product key is integrated in bios's MSDM table with W8/8.1 now. As the laptop was delivered with W7 what you are trying wont work.
The work around would be install an Windows 8.1 Pro VL or an 8.1 Enterprise version and use the MKT2.5.2 for to activate! Or, you need to buy an legit 8.1 and the legit P-Key you get with that!
