Yes, i'm using it as my main and only OS now. It's been very stable and even faster than Win8.
I booted my desktop from the install DVD i created... and did everything from scratch.

So, when the final release is out, can i upgrade from the Preview?
I have my original Windows 8 key here.

I think the upgrade will be the same... when the RTM is out, i'll have to download a .msu file... install it, reboot...
A Windows Store notification will appear saying "Get Windows 8.1 for free"...
Then i'll have to type my windows 8 key to activate it.

Michael Niehaus said an Update Notification would appear for the preview, but it didn't, people had to download and install an .msu in order for it to show up.

    Am i a good guesser?

More than likely. I had to do the same with a fresh install of Win8 Pro WMC that wasn't activated. Got the Preview installed and used a key here to activate 8.1WMC. surprised it all went smooth, really.

Yes you should be able to do a complete upgrade from the Windows 8.1 Preview Release to the RTM.

It makes sense if they want to reinstall programs however this can be overruled with some clever modifications. Most people don't know that if you modify enough of the Windows 8.1 RTM ISO you can upgrade from anything you want. I'm really not concerned about this at all if I wish to do a preview release upgrade I will. I may do it in Vmware for sake of humor.

Custom Install.WIM for the win and ISO.

If you wish to try the Store upgrade, you need to supress the temptation in Aug. when either the OEM guys or MSDN guys leak the ISO, and wait until late Oct. to try the Store upgrade. :D

Well I'm gonna be told this is heresy.

However I think that you can do a full upgrade form the Preview to RTM without reinstalling any of the apps.

My thoughts are that they want to do this because of the metro applications version from preview to rtm. However I don't see many issues with tryin this from the stance of desktop applications. I would also presume to state that you would want to uninstall the preview graphics driver. Then let her rip as I've done mods to beta's to force the upgrade ability lol.

I have windows 8 Pro legit key. Suppose I intend to install 8.1 from an iso will it accept my Pro key? Will I face any activation problems if I clean install from the iso?
