    Hi,

I have a genuine Windows 8.1, that came with my new pc, ie, it is the Core edition. I need to use Hyper-V, which can only be enabled in the Windows 8.1 Pro.

So, I tried upgrading it to Windows 8.1 Pro using the "Add features to Windows 8.1" option in Control Panel. In that, on adding the general 8.1 Pro key, it says "Your key works."

What I wanted to know is that once I carry on with this installation, will Windows ask for activation after completion/reboot?
Or Windows will remain activated, as it is now?

Also, in case Windows is not activated, can I use the KMSpico on the upgraded Windows 8.1 Pro?

    Please help.

    Activation

Are you sure the activation via KMSpico work? Because the official thread owner just states that he has tried it on a fresh Windows install.
Its a new pc, and I'm not sure if I want to take risk with the activation. :(

This would turn a legit windows install into a pirated one. Isn't it easier to use Virtualbox or VMWare Palyer?

If you think it's too risky, then don't try.
