Hi, I have a legit Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro License (from DreamSpark), it's possible to upgrade it to Windows 10 ? Because I don't have until now the ofert to "reserve". I checked Windows Update pending packages and don't have the kb3035583
Embedded Industry uses volume licensing. VL versions are not eligible for upgrade to 10. (At least not through the win10 upgrade icon method) If someone knows a way, please correct me. I haven't seen one, personally.
EmbeddedIndustry, EmbeddedIndustryE, EmbeddedIndustryA and co. are not eligible for upgrading. ATMs, POS and other embedded devices should move to IoT Core if Windows 10 is needed on these, and legacy embedded apps therefore should be rewritten into UAPs and published to Windows Store for Business, when IoT Core RTMs.
Except probably most EmbeddedIndustry users are students who got it via DreamSpark (not Premium) and could not care less about the embedded stuff…
Yes, I got Windows 8.1 Embedded Pro License via DreamSpark Student. I using it because Embedded don't have "New Apps" stuff. Then I can' t be eligible for upgrading to Windows 10 ?
