I have windows vista 32 bit in my computer and i decided to upgrade it with windows 7 ultimate so when i run setup from windows vista and it did goes well but on installation screen it says "Installation was cancelled Due To Some Missing File" and after that i did restart the computer but it stuck just before welcome screen with blue screen ( Not Error Blue Screen ) After that i tried to go into safe mode too but nothing happened then i tried to put vista installation disk to install vista once again but on installation screen it says same thing that "Installation Was Cancelled" I tried to install on other drive too but even its not works kindly help me i can't format drive as my backup is there
So you tried to do an install of a new OS without backing up all your important files first...tut tut !! I have never done an upgrade in such a manor of what you tried. What I would do is install a fresh new version of Win 7 onto a totally different HDD. Then hook up the original HDD and try to retrieve all your important files, if this update has not over ridden them. Or hook up the original HDD to a working PC and save the files. Save these files to your chosen media. USB, DVD-r or external HDD caddy ? I don't know what you have. Then once your satisfied all your files are safe do a brand new fresh install of Win 7 onto your original HDD, using Daz's loader to activate it. A Vista machine will only have SLIC2.0 and Win 7 needs SLIC2.1 in the BIOS to enable making an OEM Image.
You didn't say what Vista is installed . Afaik there's no way to upgrade from Vista HomePremium to Win 7 Ultimate while preserving all settings and programs .
i have windows vista home premium so i can't do anything without format drive or i have to put windows 7 ultimate installation disk instead of windows vista installation disk.
Huh .... moment ... let's make a step back . What did you try so far exactly, this isn't clearly understandable ? I assumed you either booted from the Win 7 disk or started the Win 7 setup.exe from Vista .... ?
I am assuming you have a working laptop or other desktop, your posting on here. Take the drive out of the broken machine and connect it to a working machine and get all your important files saved. Are you able to do this ?
I have working laptop but it is my friend laptop i just want to know how can i get back my computer working i tried system recovery option ( Startup Repair ) but nothing happening
Not able to get back to vista after failed installation then tried to boot from vista installation disk but even get installation was cancelled error.
So i can do this same thing with vista installation disk too or i have to do it only with windows 7 ultimate installation disk ?
