I have installed Home Premium SP1 x64 have 4gb on board of a laptop and now says I have only (3.68gb usable memory) before with Home Premium without SP1 was 4gb of 4. My bios is Gateway and doesn't allows any memory changes.

I'm pretty sure the condition is the same as before you installed SP1 (might just be displayed differently).

My guess is the chipset doesn't support more than 4gb memory (we had several laptops at work where the chipset prevented having an address space above 4gb, so it would have to act like x86 windows).
Do you have the newest BIOS? (just in case it's a bios thing)

Yes I had older bios yesterday, so I figure I would upgrade maybe that would change things, I did, but still the same thing.
I dont need more than 4gb.

    Reboot and see what happens.
I recently installed Win7 on an old P4 with 1.5GB RAM.

Times it says 1.35Gb usable then after a reboot its back to 1.5GB.

Could also be a setting in your bios, as in your shared memory for the graphics card, takes some ram away from the 4GB

Click on start orb, type resmon, then check under Memory tab.

Everything's fine in that image. You have 4 gb of memory of which about 1.2 gb is in use, the rest is cached/free.

Hardware has reserved 330 mb which explains the difference, wonder if its your video card. Click on Start orb and type msconfig. In the window that pops up, click on the boot tab. On advanced options on the boot you will find two options, number of processors and max memory. Select the box max memory and it should automatically put the amount of memory installed. Once you reboot it will allocate more memory to your sytem but still hold a bit back for hardware requirements.

The graphic chip built into the i5 processor uses the system memory for graphics memory.

That is normal to have some of your ram being occupied for hardware, my desktop takes 600MB and my laptop takes 200, I have not seen one computer yet that did not do that.
