I brought a Sandisk ultra dual 16gb about 3 moths ago, i was trying windows portable on it and windows get stuck so i unplugged the PC. After that the USB is recognized in windows but just the drive letter is seen. If go to tools > error checking says "The disk check could not be performed because windows can't access the disk" It's also detected by device manager Sometimes also says i need insert a device when is already plugged. ChipGenius also can't fully detect it
Rufus doesn't detect it. Something weird happens with these programs, for example ChipGenius gets stuck (says not responding) for about a minute when i plug the usb while the program is running, with rufus is the same but still at the end says 0 devices found.
It sounds to me like the drive went bad (physically). You can try detecting it in Linux, but I doubt it will help.
Then Sandisk ultra dual 16gb > R.I.P. Edit: I hope you actually tried the disk into another USB port and/or another machine
Hi Mr.X thanks for the useful link because I also have one SanDisk Cruzer Blade 64GB that unformatable til now and I need for backup my huge musics folder (is the second backup of course) then attempting recover now
You had the same problem than me? I can't find the info of the chip, but i got the VID and the PID, search it on flashboot.ru and there is some usb listed, i just grab the only one that says 16 GB, the webpage is in chinese and the program too so my PC can't read it
I try a lot of stuff and nothing, maybe the usb drive is broken. - With GPARTED when i want to format the program gets stuck and says the operation failed. At this point i have to reconnect the usb to be recognized again by Gparted. With the command line is kind of the same, fails to format. - In my Pc with Windows 10 i tried a lot of DiskPart commands but still was unable to repair (also fails in formating) - In another PC with Windows 10 i can't even try diskpart commands because the drive is not recognized error "the last drive is not recognized bla bla". In ALL cases at the moment the drive is connected to be recognized by the programs they all get stuck by 20 secs, and then they recognize the drive. But if i connect the drive and THEN open the program the drive is not recognized, i have to first open the program, connect the drive, gets stuck for 20sec and then is recognized, still not every program recognizes the drive, Rufus and Lexar USB doesn't, also the other PC i tested, just gives an error message. It's kinda weird This is the status of the drive on diskpart This are the commands i tried The last command should create a partition, but still error. In Disk Managment the usb the space is all unallocated, if i go to new simple volume at the end says error "The system cannot find the file specified"
