    hi,

I have a 16GB usb drive with no data on it. When I plug it into my laptop it reads the size of the drive to be 762MB. How can that be true? Is there a way to fix the to its true value?

    thx

Check the USB with a partitioning tool and see what the partitioning is.

    Obviously it isn't

Fake devices have say 1GB of real storage, but shows as say 16GB

Here it's the opposite scenario, very likely a partitioned device

Don't buy cheap brand.. Use Well know brands, such as ScanDISK, PNY, Samsung, other well know brands that you should use.. With cheap brand it fake looks and I bought 1 cheapo and all is BS... So, GO "Well Know" brand you trust it. Price are still consider fair and what you pay for it...
