^^ here I use one SSD for Windows and one 1 TB HDD for all my documents, pictures, musics, videos, programs, tweaks a lot of games, etc and never lost nothing
You misunderstood the question. I do not want to install the HDD inside the computer, I want to be able to plug it into a USB socket, and for this to work it seems I need an extra 12v power supply, which at today's SSD prices costs about half as much as a new SSD.
