2 days ago, my friend ask me how to reinstall his windows and want to install Dell Dock on his pc like his Dell labtop. I tried to install but the program prompt up a message showing it's for Dell system only (he is using an Asrock motherboard and its AMI based). I noticed if you change the smbios brand name into "Dell Inc." the Dell Dock will run like on a Dell system. The trick is to extract the AMI BIOS SMBIOS module using MMTOOL and modify the "American Megatrends Inc." into "Dell Inc." using any Hex editing tool, then replace the modified SMBIOS back into the BIOS and flash it and you are ready to install Dell Dock. I also try this on my Asus motherboard (also AMI BIOS) and its working fine.
