x64 version has been around since September but no x86 available. mhoeds.de.vu version doesn't seem to work. Would be great to have one as I have a 32bits laptop.

I don't think there will be a UXtheme Patch or mod made for any Windows 8 32Bit systems.
As disappointing as it sounds, (I know I have a 32Bit system) I think everyone now uses 64Bit systems.

It seems no one uses 32 bit versions no more...

That's a shame that it only works on x64 systems. It at least looks like it might be pretty good at letting you use 3rd party themes.

I had been so busy doing other things with Win8 and Server 2012 that I had not messed with custom themes in a while. But when I was looking for a good uxtheme patcher (or the latest one anyway) I got confused as so many people were complaining about uxtheme patches not working right on their Win8 installs. Is that because MS rolled out some huge updates that kept breaking uxtheme custom theme support (updating the .dll's)? Or is it because the current uxtheme patchers are not functioning correctly? Does anyone know the current situation on this?

My preference would be to use patched .dll's that can be integrated into the W8/Server images, and to not use the uxstyle app that has the services running in the background. Is Auto UXThemePatcher v2.0 the best patcher out there for W8 right now? Is it problematic in any way?

    Thanks woot.

I'm having problems with my x64 system. I applied the uxstyle patch and a new VS (newly released on DA). After 2 days I got the blank screen with movable cursor only. I tried doing a restore of the 3 patched files but it wasn't enough, I had to system restore.

My guess is that the VS has some problem, right? Soon after win8rtm was released a guy released a VS and shortly after removed it to solve problems with blank screen issue. Can the problem be in the VS?

My x64 version is not gonna be uploaded you should use UxStyle instead.
It will save you the trouble of runing the patcher everytime m$ realease updates.

Why not? (PM me if you like.) But you were saying that UltraUXThemePatcher does work with x64 right now?

Yep, for x64 systems definitly a good choice to use UxStyle instead of UxThemePatch. Never faced any problem with updates with it :good3:.

I tried UxStyle a while back, but I have a chronic loathing for extra processes running in background, however insignificant they may be :) Plus I have some lite images I have updated fully (I do every couple of months) and I want to integrate the patched files into the images rather than install progs post-install.

Well, sure, I do that for a pre-configured Classic Shell on Win7 images. But main thing being I don't want the program running in the background continuously, although there is nothing essentially wrong with that. I just really prefer integrating the patched files over any program running services 24/7.

Huh...you really prefer tampered system files . Never noticed that service running in background.

Yeah, been doing that since forever... but if it turns out not to be stable for x64 Win8/Serv I will try uxstyle again.
