HI everyone , Well, somehow my Vaio VGN-CS27GJ bios got screwed on its own . this hat it shows Machine Name: Reserved Serial Number: Reserved UUID: ffffffff-ffff-ffff -ffff-ffffffffffff
my vgn-fj150 also has the same issue. Have you found ways to do it? I can't update or do any factory restore because sony software keeps saying "its not intended for this machine"
I can't upgrade to BIOS R0140X6 because the program checks the machine first...when BIOS report the mashine as "reserved", it gave me an error message "this program is not intended to use with this machine". Some how I need to fix the machine name inside the bios first before I can upgrade anything downloaded from SONY website. Sony needs to fix that BIOS installation program but they won't do it. They wanted me to send it to have it serviced for $200+
Not sure if this will help or not but the PHBSYS-00966319-US.exe can be extracted with universal extractor once extracted you will find PHBSYS-00966319-UN.exe also extract that with universal extractor then you will find WinPhlash.exe along with other files the file named R0140X6.ROM is the bios file. Not sure if it will work up to yourself it could totally screw the machine.
