I recently installed Windows 8 Professional RTM x64 and activated it with a MAK Key. Whenever I try to add a key in VAMT 3.0, it shows the following error:

    VAMT 3.0 Error.jpg

After I click OK, I get a message saying that the Key has been successfully added to the list. However, it is not so & it is not visible, i.e. it does not get added.

I don't get this error, though, when I open a .cilx file & all the keys in it get automatically added. It only comes when I manually try to put in the Keys.

I have installed SQL Server 2012 alongwith VAMT 3.0 (for the Database) & have also googled around a bit only to find it is a known error with SQL.

Does anybody have a workaround for this?

You must modify the VamtSchema.sql located within:
    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Kits\8.0\Assessment and Deployment Kit\VAMT 3.0
The NVARCHAR value increases to 400

Or to change for this one: hxxp:// w w w.datafilehost.com/download-75596e30.html

Thanks a lot! That should work. :D

I will report back after trying it. Can't do that at this moment coz I'm having trouble installing Microsoft SQL Server 2012 in Windows 8. :(

UPDATE: I finally managed to install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 in Windows 8. However, even after modifying VamtSchema.sql & changing all NVARCHAR values to 400, I'm still getting that error.

    Any clues anybody?

Ok, so I switched back to Windows 7 from Windows 8 due to too many issues. Did a clean install. SQL Server installed like a charm, and so did VAMT 3.0.

Weirdly, I still get the same error that I posted a screenshot of in the first post of this thread. I tried bigpipo's method, but it didn't work. o_O
