i heard that vbox is related to trial applications.. i downloaded macromedia flash a few days ago and whn i tried to open it 2day this error appeared : Failed to initialize Vbox!(0009-0071-0076) . How to solve this error ?
Vbox is a trial copy protection system previously owned by preview systems now by Aladdin. It is a bolt on protection system (not incorporated in the original code) and works by wrapping around the original exe. once attached it handles all the imports of the original exe by directing calls to a decryption routine, this was the weak point of the protection. It was easy to write an inline patch to hook this routine and write the valid imports back to the IAT (Import Allocation Table) then dump the exe from memory and replace the IAT with the one you created, thus the program is clear of vbox and the trial. Can't help with the error message if you haven't used a crack on the software I suggest you contact Adobe or Aladdin and raise the point with them, or uninstall flash cs4 and install their free flash player which has no vbox wrapper.
