Yeah, use uniextract, locate the EP0000208387.exe. Start it and it'll decompresses the files at your local temp folder. Copy all files to a safe place and exit the flashutil.
EFI Bios Hy thanks for the tip with temp folder. Now i found the ROM File. I will try now the mod tool and it says he found slic 2.0 sony and its an EFI bios. Is this possible to mod with the phoenix mod tool ? I was thinking that efi not it possible to mod ..... Thanks
We all are working at EFI. It is possible to exchange the existing Sony SLIC2.0. Choose Sony SLIC2.1 at andy's tool. A mod is possible already. To flash the mod, open a cmd window as admin and type: AFUWIN R0200Y3_SLIC.ROM /P /N /E Update to the same original bios version if not done already. Please note that the Opa tool to activate may use an old certificate and doesn't work (yet). Apply the SONY-Sony-2.1.XRM-MS by yourself......
How save is this tool? I made very good mods with the afu and award mod tool. How safe is the phoenix mod tool exspecially for the efi bios i want to mod. I will mod this bios for a friend and install it with remote control. So I want have the chance for helping him if the mod goes wrong And especialy laptops ..... are making me headaches ....
The Phoenix tool uses different ways to mod. You are lucky! That Sony bios needs only to replace the existing SLIC. (You even could do that with an hexeditor only!) This is the safest way you can mod. I can assure to you the risk is the same as to flash an original bios.
If this works i am going to make a tutorial "HOW TO track files". I have not found that someone has used this tool in this web site. Thank you.
Hello there, I followed the directions in the link you posted before and it worked! I have another sony vaio vgn ns150ae, but I think the bios are the same. In any case, I saved the original file and the modded one in a file. If the original ROM is the same as yours, you can use it to update your bios with the command: afuwin R0200Y3_SLIC.ROM /P /N /E megaupload.com slash ?d=TWUODQ4T Regards, caio2k
