Here's a healthy start: Vista with Service Pack 2 (Any edition if you don't provide any key) en_windows_vista_with_sp2_x86_dvd_342266.iso SHA1: 25AD9A776503E6A583BEC07879DBCC5DFD20CD6E ISO/CRC: E2AD10F9 Or Vista without any Service Packs (Any Edition if you don't provide any key) en_windows_vista_x86_dvd_x12-34293.iso SHA1: B71E04564CA22E4D9928E59298EFF87CF62B382B ISO/CRC: C11363AA You said you had a key, I think it should work with either Service Pack or without. Anyway, a search on Google with this information will net you some potential download candidates.
I can only agree with Computer Fixer's statement if your friends machine did come with vista preinstalled the make up OEM SLP DVD. The key on you friends computer means nothing it is only OEM COA key it can not activate his machine.
