Hi, Would someone who knows more about these things tell me if I am on the right track, please. I have a laptop (Toshiba L300) with vista and it has a 2.1 slic. I have extracted the installed OEM certificate that matches the slic. My understanding is that the slic 2.1 and the existing vista certificate will bo OK for windows 7. Is this correct? All i need is the matching SKU OEM for Win 7. Is this correct too? Thanks guys.
As far as i Know you have to check this first after extracting the OEM certificate and OEM product key, it’s confirmed that Windows 7 uses the same digitally signed OEM certificate in .xrm-ms extension that is been used in Windows Vista.
There are different toshiba slic and certificates. Toshiba[TOSASU-TOSASU00-MSFT]2.1.BIN = 3A3977A0 | 2.1 CERT Toshiba[TOSCPL-TOSCPL00-LOHR]2.1.BIN = 0A3C785F | 2.1 CERT Toshiba[TOSHIB-A0064-MSFT]2.1.BIN = 8876BBBD | 2.0 CERT Toshiba[TOSINV-TOSINV00-INV]2.1.BIN = E5FA2D7A | 2.1 CERT Toshiba[TOSQCI-TOSQCI00-LTP]2.1.BIN = 709D1620 | 2.1 CERT
Yes, That is what I thought. So I used the vista key and it seems to be working fine validated and all. Thanks to all..........again.
