I have a question regarding the installation of the Windows Vista Business upgrade

I have a "illegal" copy of XP (a direct copy of my dad's XP) and I heard that if I want to install a Vista upgrade, I'll have to pass a genuine test.
As I have a "illegal" version of XP, I wont pass that test. Is there any other way of installing the upgrade (maybe a multiboot, although thats not my top priority choice)??

    thanks in advance

    hey thanks! that worked....

now I have another question, is it possible to create a multi-boot with the Vista upgrade?
or am I doomed to either buy the full version or remove my trusty XP?

format your hard drive and install vista. then install it again over the first copy to activate it successfully

Read the Manual on Upgrade = Clean install Vista

The manual included with Vista Upgrade tells you exactly how to either upgrade from XP (illegal or legal) or if you want how to Clean Install from Upgrade disk..
