Hi all. I got this Laptop a year or so ago, only use it for watching movies hooked up to TV and emergency = Don't give a rat's ass about it. After 3 months or something, the power went out one night and since then the validation it had I guess is not good anymore? Anyway I am hoping to not spend much time on this, the laptop works fine, it is just annoying when watching a movie to have the "Windows must be reinstalled" pop-up show up, so at minimum I would like to toast that, if I can also fool the OS to think it is genuine that would be a bonus I guess, definitely don't want to install another OS, re-install etc. What I have is: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 HP Compaq Presario A900 Notebook Message in corner of screen = Build 6002, This copy of Windows in not genuine Thanks in advance!
I just checked the internet. Plenty of keys if you want. With an OS that old, you could probably just phone MS to activate it, and tell them you only have it on one computer. They shouldn't have a problem.
There is one other thing that would be "nice" to fix, but not necessary, and maybe will take more work than I want to put into it? Every time the Laptop loses power (fully unplugged), it installs the part 3 of 3 of a Service Pack, so stuck in some kind of loop, maybe that was when it lost power creating this whole issue not sure. It asks me if I want to validate Windows when it finally fully boots up. There is a sticker on bottom on Laptop, but it is somewhat wore off, some of the characters are not very legible.
Thanks Tito, for some reason the "copy" feature of my MGADIAG is not working (failed to create output files?\) I posted a pic I guess writing is too small? (I can see it here in post, is it missing something? Do you need the full Hash, or something else?) Let me know if there is something in particular that needs to be legible and I will type it out ps - I think I see now one solution and remember, use WAT FIX and then Daz Loader, but, I think that is why you want to see the report....
