Vista Retail Keys vs. Vista OEM Keys

    Is it possible to use a retail key on an OEM install of Windows Vista and vice versa?

    Yes if it's not an install made by a Royalty OEM DVD (ex: DELL Vista DVD).
    It worked for me.

    Say if i were to use a Gateway OEM disc to install Vista on a 2nd Gateway machine and i did not have the OEM key for that 2nd machine, would i be able to use a retail key to activate the OEM install?
