no effence to anyone out there, i'm not trying to be disrespectful. why havent some of you moved on to Windows 7? i just don't get it
Well i for 1 use windows 7 but still like to install vista every once in a while I have never had any problems with vista at all!
I use windows 7 and dont know anyone using vista but xp.. Buying a new windows OS is pretty expensive depening on which version you want, not everyone wants to use a loader.
Vista is not the best or that good OS for notebooks.. Then Id prefer windows 7 or hell even xp.. W7 also has a sync center..
Well marcus some people (a couple of millions) actually go and buy their OS once in a while and some people maybe bought an license for Vista, hell even the overpriced Ultimate version a couple of years back and thinks today that why bother with 7 when we paid all that money for Vista. Maybe they don't feel like shelving out more cash yet again on something that is not worth their time and thinking hey Vista is SP2 and have the platform update with some of the more essential features from 7 (DirectX 11 etc) Money is the answer to this, and not all have enough money to go out and upgrade to the latest OS everytime and many that bought laptops the last couple of years probably had Vista preinstalled and some are perfectly fine with it. I think it's great that some of us actually buy our OS instead of just download it, there's always the cheaper OEM versions if retail is to expensive. If everyone in the world where to download you know the answer to your own question.
+1 When I do repairs I always offer to repair with the existing OS (Vista on most laptops) for a flat rate of $79 or save old data/wipe hard disk and install Win7 for $79 + cost of Win7 which adds about $110 or so to the bill. Well you know what... not one taker for the upgrade yet. It's money, money, money.....
I can't speak for anyone else and I know I'm probably in the minority by saying this, but I actually like vista over seven. It's the only OS that I purchased from a retail store. Vista ultimate works very fast for me and I haven't had any major problems with it no matter what computer I used. Seven, on the other hand, was nothing short of pure hell. A lot of my software and drivers wouldn't install and it runs horribly slow eventhough I'm using a quad core desktop. It would take as long as 15 seconds to open a folder and accessing my external drive was impossible so vista is ok for me right now.
I just upgrade windows vista to windows 7 and its features are cool, i use office applications and some net surfing.
We just put on a SLICK WIN 7 THEME and other addons like Aerosnap and forget about it - The only exception is networking between XP and Vista as there is major issues, curiously win 7 does not have any issues with xp.
Vista, when you buy it, Really S*cks! But, after you tweak it hard enough. You find out that it's as good, and even better than XP
Just like how some XP users skipped Vista and waited for 7, well some people will skip 7 and wait for 8
