loaded win-7 x64 and then tried loading win-8 x64 loading error came back saying I was not running a 64 bit machine. is this a vituralbox problem or my problem in loading win-8 ?
I don't quite get the picture..., but maybe you can answer my questions so that we can break down your problem easily. 1. what is your 'host' OS and is it 32bit or 64bit? [as I understand it, your host is 7 64bit] 2. since its reporting that your host OS is not 64bit, you may have a mangled installed OS?, or try installing/updating your Virtualbox to the latest version.
This error occurs usually when Inter VT (Virtualization Technology) is not supported or is locked by the processor.
