Used to like PotPlayer in the past but stopped using it after I heard there was a Korean Dialer built into it that silently tries to dial a Korean phone number. I use MPC-HC + LAV Filters + MadVR! Best quality you could ever imagine and you can play any file in the world VLC's quality is HORRIBLE compared to the above setup. you won't know what I mean until you've tried it! nothing beats the madVR renderer
Never tried PotPlayer, and I love vlc, back when I worked at my last computer repair shop I had a guy that did film or something like that and said that vlc was the best, I have never ran into any issues with it over the years, I love great quality however, so I might just check out the above setup, thanks for sharing.
I use the latest version of 64bit VLC 2.1 beta, usually update every 2 weeks or so, sooner if there's a problem though (recently couldn't change audio volume about 100%). I have it set to auto-launch full-screen(for movies). I also use the x64 MPC which comes with the K-Lite pack for smaller things I don't want in full-screen. It uses much less CPU than VLC but when I skip parts, image goes corrupt for 3-5secs.
all my music is wma lossless...all my videos are mp4 full hd...windows media player 12 plays all my media!!! if i need to view a real media or mkv file i use vlc which is aptly called the swiss knife of media players i had tried kmplayer on xp once & had a harrowing experience uninstalling/removing the damn thing...never touched it again!!! i dont like a media player that goes online looking for codecs when you hit the play button
you wished, MPC + LAV + madVR craps all over VLC in terms of quality! You obviously haven't seen madVR in action
This. If you still think VLC is better then you have either a bad computer which can't handle the epicness. Other option is that you set it up wrong, it's not install and run..
Test the quality of your player with this video, watch between 14s to 22s the face of the person. www .mediafire.com/?f5y69mkaxlbbp09 (join the 3w's to the dot) (i needed 20 posts for that)
I voted for KMPlayer vs VLC because of the interface and quality for audio. They are both great but not best, I am just using it for my slow PC
I installed MadVr but it says it's unavailable in MPC-HC under the options setting. Anyway to fix this? DOH! I believe MadVr is only supported for the x86? LAME!
