except that we don't all use windows hosts. It may be better for some. Not if you use linux or esxi hosts.
I agree completely. I would like to be able to do this. Can you provide a link to "Andy's Phoenix tool 1.51"? All I can find are AMI or award tools, and I don't think they will work with vmware's phoenix bios. I've successfully extracted the bios440.rom object from the vmware executable for 64-bit linux workstation, but I've been unsuccessful so far at modifying it to present the ASUS SLP 1.0 bios strings. Is there a way to compare, say, the ASUS 3.14 SLP 1.0 bios in the megapack with what I have and see what I need to modify? or is that an impractical task? It would be great to be able to be able to modify the bios myself.
