Hi All~~!!! I'm using XP, This XP computer has installed VMware Workstation 7, And this VMware Workstation has also installed XP. Like THIS: (> symbol means "installed") My Computer > WinXP > VMware > WinXP Someone said: RXP and VXP should be regarded as 2 computers. Virtual XP = VXP Real XP = RXP Virtual File = VF Real File = RF 1st Q: Can RF in VXP be copied to RXP? eg. : Copy to the "VXP, C:\Doc & Setting\~~~ ". 2nd Q: Can VF in VXP be copied to RXP? eg. : Copy an .exe file to the "RXP, C:\Doc & Setting\~~~ ". 3rd Q (integrated Q1, Q2): If VMware allows transmission of files from RXP to VXP and vice versa (as Q1, Q2), then will RXP be infected by the viruses in the VXP? (Assuming that RXP and VXP has not installed Anti-Virus.) eg. : There're infected VF in VXP, RXP system is then infected by the viruses. 4th Q: I've heard of sth called "VMware tool" which can be installed in the virtual OS, what is it? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New situation: Same as above, but then both VXP and RXP have installed Nero 9. Like THIS: (> symbol means "installed") My Computer > WinXP > VMware > WinXP > Nero __________________> Nero 5th Q: Can I read files in CDROM / DVDROM in VXP? 6th Q: If I have to burn VF in VXP, what should I do? Should I use Nero in VXP to burn VF? Because Nero in RXP cannot read files in the virtual OS. Or should I transmit the files to RXP, then burn with Nero in RXP? Thank you very much for answering!!!
Yes you can copy files between virtual machines and rean machines but you need to install VMware tools on virtual machines first you would have been quicker reading the help file before posting.
Just get on with it, as urie said, help file will answer all you questions It all depends what kind of networking you chose for your VM As to burning... honestly, burn from physical machine sebus
