Does this mean I can install a x64 version as a guest OS, even if host computer does not have a CPU with EMT64 support? I didn't think this is possible?
VMware is turing into a resource hog I used to run VMware WS but with every new release the install has grown exponentially (it seems) and i just don't need many of the features. I have been running the free Sun alternative Virtual box and have been very happy with it.
Gee, youre right. Throws up the question why they would leave the version number exactly the same even though the build number has climbed quite a bit. After all, isnt that what point-digits are usually for? Dont work for me. I tried entering a fake email address but this just took me to one heck of a huge questionnaire where they wanted to know galaxy, quadrant, star cluster, solar system, planet, continent, land, state, city, district, street, house, apartment, surname, given name, middle name, title, date of birth, place of birth, private phone number, mobile phone number, phone number of workplace, company i work for, position in company, annual revenue of company, name of employer, age of employer, maiden name of my grandmothers sister, and so on and so forth. I really thought they got to be kidding me when i saw the insane amount of private information they expect me to hand over just to be allowed to download one stinkin file. So of course i didnt do it, but if you know how to get the latest version without this crap, im all ear... (An alternative download location would be great, but since most of the sites that 'offer' it are really just linking back to the reg page at VMWares it might proove a little difficult in this case. To find that one place that actually hosts the file itself i had to comb about a dozen pages worth of google results...)
You can run a 64bit guest in a 32bit host, but only if the host has a 64bit CPU. (I read that in the help or on their site, dont exactly remember...)
But thats workstation. What i would like to have is just an alternative download location for the latest legit/official/orginal version of the free VMWarePlayer. Seen anything like that anywhere?
I guess i do. Does anyone have the hash of the original 203739 file so i can check whether the torrent one is original and untouched?
