Hey to everyone! After the last patch tuesday i got some strange behaviour from Vmware workstation 10 (same thing happens with the last vmware player build). After the windows update and after a system restart, vmware workstation process will start but hangs without doing anything: no window appear, and you only need to manually terminate the process. Run program as administrator seems to fix the problem but now i've found that the guest isolation ---> drag and drop files from host to guest doesn't work anymore. I already tried to completely unistall the program and reinstall it but without any luck. Anyone can confirm this ? As i already said, before yesterday, the program was always good. Thank you! p.s. I forgot to say that the host os is Windows 7 sp1 x64.
All working fine here, drag and drop hasn't worked since the last VMWare update iirc, but you can just copy / paste between host and guest instead
Just set the compatibility tab of the shortcut to "Run as Administrator" so it runs it like that automatically
just an FYI drag and drop in 10.0.1 works, not sure exactly what 10 you are using. Host: Win8.1 Ent Guests: Win7 Pro x64 and x86, WinXP Pro x86, and Win8.1 Ent x64
I really don't know why but now it's working again like before and drag & drop works again too. I didn't do anything... It's really strange...
