VMware 12.5.1 Dell 2.4 Slic Multi SLP BIOS Mod VMware 12.5.1 is out, it's a minor release with the same 429 BIOS, but a Dell 2.4 SLIC (Server 2016 OEM activation) has been posted here, so I've modded 12.5.1 with the 2.4 SLIC. The Dell key has not been posted yet so we can't actually activate Server 2016 with a SLIC yet, but the 2.4 SLIC is backward compatible so the mod can be used as usual for any prior SLIC version O/S (Vista, Server 2008, Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2). VMware 12.x EFIs with the Dell 2.4 SLIC I modded the VMware 12.x EFIs with the Dell 2.4 SLIC, and added them as a separate download on the first post. I've only tested X64_6021_24SLIC.rom, see screenshot below. Added to the first post here. Server 2016 cannot be activated this way yet since a Server 2016 OEM SLP key has not surfaced yet, but the 2.4 SLIC is backward compatible with previous SLIC versions.
Yes, I'm aware that Freestyler used a generated key to test Server 2016 OEM SLP activation, but the rest of us will wait for OEM SLP keys to surface. It's just a matter of time.
Hi there. I am currently using a VMware 9 and I would love to upgrade to 12. My virtual machines are asus branded. I see the notice on the first sticky post mention Dell bios. Does that mean that my machines created and activated for Asus bios will not run on VMware if I use the Dell bios mod? Could anybody please explain? I am so confused...
No problem, just use the Dell certificate (included in download) in your VM to match the Dell SLIC. OEM SLP product keys are not brand specific, so the ASUS key should be OK. There's a PDF included in the download which explains how to install the certificate etc.

If you are using a prior v12 mod (12.x.x) you will be affected by this update only if you are using the modded vmware-vmx.exe, the modded 6006.rom (BIOS) is the same. Added to the first post.

VMware Workstation Pro 12.5.5 Build 5234757 has been released. Can someone help me out and tell me if its safe to upgrade? Meaning is the 6006.rom still valid or i need a new one? Later edit: I made a backup and updated. All guests are still activated so bios 6006.rom still works on 12.5.5.
