Best ever, no problems if you know what you are doing and don't wear Tin Foil Hat:worthy:

About to get better I hope, so yes I think it's better:eek:

Edge is better than other browsers now--NO

Not a glitch since installing almost two years ago and still booting as fast as after first install.
    So yes.. best ever.

Mind you, an OS is as good as the third party crap you install on it, like CCleaner which ruins your register when used...
I do my own cleaning in files, folders and software if nessesary, and I haven't touched the register since installing W10.

It's technically a good thing, and it's socially a nightmare.

So the only option good to vote is the last one.

there are too many concerns i have about 10 for it to be considered as my main os. i could get it and tinker with it as a hobby, but now i have totally got to grips with 7 and tweaked to my liking, i want to use my pc to get stuff done, not to use the pc just for the os.

i have tweaked/shrunk the hell out of w7, its very stable. i can get stuff done. basically it boils down to drivers. if i can get w7 drivers on new hardware, i'll stick with it.
the day i have to upgrade and only get w10 drivers, i will have no choice. :(

Much better than Windows 98 millenium or Vista, lol. I used all windows since 3.1 and W10 is very stable. But I don't like Edge and prefer Chrome (and IE).

Windows 10 not as stable as an updated version of Windows Vista (or Windows 7 or 8). One need only look at your "Event Viewer" to see the ticking time bomb that is Windows 10.

Microsoft own support forum suggests that file corruption is all but assured (it's their solution for everything as they've given up diagnosing problems). That's not a good sign at all. The few "solutions" they are provided will likely cause just as much trouble as they may fix things.

The same problems you'll hear about on this forum and every Windows forum is:

    1. Why is Windows not updating
    2. Why is X app no longer working
    3. Why is X app not updating
    4. Why has X service stop working
    5. Why has the store stop working

When it works, it's OK, but once you start having issues... It's simpler to format. I've formatted Windows 10 more times than any OS, ever.

I was forced to format something like 5 times since windows 2.0, never on my own PC.

Format = refusing to solve a problem, just to face another bunch of them.

You're not wrong. No one wants a lemon. It's like a car... if fixing 1 problem causes a new problem, which then causes another, ect.. ect... No one wants a lemon.

In Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 if I fixed something it didn't break something else. It was fixed and life moved on. That's not the case in Windows 10 and that's all too common for a lot of people. Assuming you do get something fixed it's not to long before something else goes wrong.

Perhaps because many of us are not as smart as you to solve a problem? Certainly I'm not, so most of time I have to format and reinstall. It's always good to know someone has the brains to deal with a complex problem though. Just like you

    Ha ha ha ha.

Smarts have nothing to do with it (well, not nothing), but it's become easier and quicker to format and install - OR - restore from a fresh image. - VS - Always fighting to keep things running smoothly.

Amen. My same computer repair philosophy... :D
Although sometimes I attempt to fix some problems, of course. However, if I can't find solution by myself or researching the Net in 1 hour and the issue is annoying or cripples machine's productivity, then time to format.

Aside that an in place upgrade fixes by itself 98% of the problems

Even if you want a clean installation, format is wrong.

If you want a clean installation just chose that option during the install process, possibly keeping the personal files.

No need to backup, no worry to lose any personal data, users and password will be retained as well, hence possibility to get back all the browser history, the email, most of the games and so on using few mouse clicks.

And the time spared can be used to learn about harder problems. And each problem you solve you become "smarter" just to use your definition.
