Ok here we go... I have, believe me, I have done my homework, namely read all the posts I could only find on the issue. Win 10 10240: The fonts are, heck, you know it, blurry and fuzzy and ugly. The compatibility mode helps for individual programmes, but windows manage the computer or device manager or task scheduler are still not crystal clear, meaning they are blurred to the point it makes them hard to look at for more than a few seconds - maybe I'm overreacting... Can anyone confirm updating the system helps? Tried all the mentioned fixes, tweaks, mac type program, clear type settings, fix dpi programme. I did somehow help the issue on a Lenovo laptop, but no idea which tweak actually worked as we applied 3 at the same time [stupid of us] - the dpi programme, the cleartype settings + the OS got updated upon the restart. If anyone knows anything, I''d be grateful.
I have seen these tips. They don't work when applied here. Am I doomed? Well, to be honest, it does work when I set the DPI to 125% but the fonts immediatey become too small to read... which makes me sad.
I had a hunch it might help.... but, could anyone elaborate on the number of mods the upgrade can do to my machine, well, what does it include? The default one-year-old 10240 is solid, as you imagine I do not want to lose that. You're also implying the July Anniversary should fix the issue - perhaps better off waiting for that? I'm confused.
I'd wait till Anniversary Edition comes out, doing it now, then again in 20 or so days, well it's up to you, would a simple Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in Admin Cmd Prompt mess up your tweaks You could also go to settings, System display, click on advanced display settings, there are 4 items listed, forget the color calibration, play with the other 3 If you have installation for 10240, put it in while computer is running, DVD ROM click on it, then setup, select UPGRADE, will put copy of 10240 over what you have now, repair any bad tweaks on your computer, get the next build when out.
Scaling on Windows has and always will suck, it's still no better on the latest build, been testing it on my tablet and while most native dialogue is fine, 3rd party programs and installers are no better with blurred text and images.
Mine is fine, you're probably done some tweak, that you probably forgot about, can you do any repair options, or do you have a bunch of spyware tweaks.
Scaling on 3rd party is always easily tweaked by means of compatibility mode. Yet in my case it's the Device Manager, Even Viewer - MS own stuff, which is upsetting.
Sure thing, mate. Don't get me wrong, I most certainly appreciate your suggestions, while trying to remember what exactly has been done so far to my OS, drawing conclusions for my next move What's your machine like? I should've added the fact that mine is 14''
That doesn't fix that problem. Update: Sorry my mistake. 10586 being up to date has fixed that problem.
I have carried out chkdsk on my SSD, the only HD I have as of now. I have got the DVD with the OS but no recovery partition has been found by Macrium [I'm waiting for the shop to respond properly to my letter of complaint], and since I have no dvdrom... Is this what you're asking?
Just a stupid question but... Is the screen resolution in windows set to the native resolution of your monitor ?
well i dont know if the july release will fix that issue....with windows u never really know...best bet cross your fingers
That's why I fear it may remain this way... The res is set to: 1920x1080 [recommended] fonts in apps: 150% as recommended
OK, Now what is the native resolution for your monitor ? If you don't know, post the make and model and we can find out.
