Hi everyone, I recently installed windows 7 ultimate 32bit on my pc.I also installed Dirt 2 on this OS.But the game didn't launch at all...gave some directx dll file missing error.I then installed DirectX 9.0c(AUG-2009)....then only the game started without any problems. So,i was just wondering why the hell Windows 7 with DirectX 11 was missing the files?...Do i need to install any updates for DirectX11 like we generally install direct9.0c for xp...if so can you give me a link for it ?? Thanks for reading...!!
good explanation, like was said. Just because you have DX11 doesn't mean that the binaries for a certain DX version are going to be in there. Win7 was compiled and released in July and was feature complete before then (June some time) so no code changes were incorporated into the new builds. So when 7 went to RC the binaries didn't exist so they are not in there. It is always a good rule of thumb to update to the latest DX if a game doesn't run. It is not going to break anything if you do so don't worry about it.
