I bought a Toshiba Notebook with Vista pre-loaded. As it was just before W7 came out I took up the option to buy a Vista to W7 Home Premium Upgrade DVD for use with the notebook. I did not upgrade the Toshiba notebook to W7 and it is now broken and beyond repair. To replace the notebook I am assembling a desktop pc and hope to use the W7 Home Premium Upgrade DVD to install W7. However, my concern is that the product key that came with the DVD may not activate W7 as I expect it is an OEM version and my desktop motherboard is retail. Could someone please advise on whether the key will activate Windows 7 and if not what would be my options to achieve this.
