Iam thinking of getting a new ASUS mobo with an FM2 socket (F2A85 - MPro)
The BIOS for this F2A85 M Pro ASUS 5104.cap but I have not seen a BIOS with as a .cap file before and I suspect that this is a UEFI.

If I want to put W8 on this mobo how can I modd it and what is EUFI all about anyway?

Can someone please give me an idiots guide to modding for W8.
    Thanks

When you enter the boot menu, you shoud be able to boot to your instal disk in uefi mode or regular mode. Just choose the one you want before installing.

Sorry if I was not clear about what I want to do.

I am currently running W7 with a modded BIOS (HP 2.1 SLIC) and want to modd the BIOS/UEFI on the new board that I want to buy but given that the BIOS file suffix is .cap rather than . bin I am worried that I could balls up the BIOS/UEFI if I use the AMI BIOS modding Tool.

Later I may want to put W8 on it and wonder if a Bios modd will work for it

At this moment, it does not seem to get a bios mod in terms of OEM slic 2.x like W7 for activating W8
