    Hi..
I have a bought a new PC now and its a assembled one. I have the SEAGATE 250 GB HDD and I have installed Vista Ultimate on it.
But what I feel is, its a bit slow. Dont know, why, I already have 4GB RAM (TAMKOR) and IntelDG41RQI Mother board and still its slow. :(

So, I want to install Windows XP SP3 now and keep it as a nice system. So, what should I do now ?
Can I just insert the bootable XP DVD and get it right ??

    Possible ??

Hi,was the vista pre installed? if it was make a backup image so you can go back if you need to,as for xp i would first check device manager and write down all the bits etc and find all the drivers for the machine before i started, then format and install xp normally, you may also need sata drivers so xp can see your hdd, you will also have too much ram cos xp only sees the the first 3.5gb so you will lose the rest,if you are installing the 64bit version you are ok for your ram.

Boot from your xp cd and you will get options to format if you need to.

I have installed Windows 7 Home Premium now. When I view its SYSTEMS INFO, it says,

    INSTALLED MEMORY (RAM) : 4.00 GB ( 2.96GB USABLE)

    What does that mean ?

Im scared that I have4 GB RAM , but my system is running on 2.96 GB . Is it anything wrong or thats why low performance ?
How to make it use full 4 GB RAM ?

You need install 64 bit Windows to use more than 3GB of memory.

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

    Oh ho..
    Thats the point then..
All right, can I just install 64 bit Windows 7 directly on my machine ??

Or is this 32 bit 64 bit is mother board dependent ??
