is this the latest version? i saw two version of adksetup (for preview and rtm) if i want winpe 4.0 should i download the entire files? sorry for bad english
download the whole thing. The adksetup.exe from RP is hex byte for byte match to the RTM adksetup.exe, so me thinks the stub installer just reads the data from an XML page on MSFT.com.
Many thanks. I have down loaded the two files, i.e. vamt and cab; and then "run" the "msi", but nothing happened. I found there was an entry in the Control Panel (programme and features), namely, Volume Activation Management Tool (without a version number). Read all the posts, then realized VAMT 3.0 does not like VAMT 2.0, a standalone programme. To make VAMT 3.0 works, I need to download and run the followings:- - adksetup - SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe - Volume%20Activation%20Management%20Tool-x86_en-us.msi; and - fe43ba83b8d1e88cc4f4bfeac0850c6c.cab Unfortunately, I have not get the VAMT works because I don't know how to set up an SQL server. Poor I ! Last not the least, thank to all responders.
Installed everything but unable to establish connection to the server after starting VAMT 3.0 - anybody any idea's or thoughts on where I am going wrong?
acer54 had same prob so did reset PC, then next start vamt3 and enter name for database and will ask if to create, ok and vamt worked. worked on win7 keys but NBG with w8 keys, so gave up.
for those with setup Server problems if you installed SQL sever express use the below and VAMt will create the database for you. Server = ./SQLexpress Database: whatevernameyouwant
I have the SQL DB setup but I don't see where I'm supposed to extract the second Zip file to? Ok, so keys not showing are only the retail keys. Other than that works fine.

Is VAMT 3.0 required for win 8 keys. I could not input my Technet keys for win 8 into vamt 2.0 If that is the case, if I read correctly, I need to do this (both full installers with me) 1. Uninstall VAMT 2.0 1. Install VAMT 3.0 (304KB) 2. Install SQL Server x86 (101MB). Then open VAMT 3.0.
VAMT2 will not do Win8 / Server 2012 and probably Office15, you would require VAMT3. the older VAMT does not recognize the new charcters being used in the PID and reject the key. 1 - Install SQLexpress2012 2 - Install VAMT3 3 - open VAMT3 and you will be asked to connect to server 4 - Server: ./SQLexpress 5 - Database: whatever you want to name the file i used "VAMT" 6 - Connection will happen and database will be built
