WAT KB971033 installed itself automatically, without my consent. GRR!

    I ran Windows Update and was very careful to not to install KB971033. I triple checked my settings and MADE SURE KB971033 was not selected. It installed Service Pack 1 and some other updates and when I restarted, sure enough, KB971033 was indeed installed. :confused:

    I have since reformatted the computer (it's a Mac buy the way) and now have a fresh installation of Windows Ultimate. I'm scared of running Windows Update because of what happened last time. Is there anyway to install Service Pack 1 without installing WAT? Or did it get installed some other way?

    No dude, I already reinstalled Windows, I don't HAVE KB971033 installed, I'm trying to PREVENT KB971033 from installing!

    Simple question.... why? Just install KB971033 and ignore it, there is no need to be paranoid

    exactly.....
    when you r using Daz loader, you do not have to worry about that update..that will not disturb u.....:)

    @ acrsn, information about your system has been getting sent back to M$ since at least XP this is nothing new.
