Has anyone else tried to install WindowsActivationUpdate.exe and have it fail with "This update is not applicable to your computer"? This system is running ultimate with a 2.1 mod .. nothing special. The only other action I did was to apply the WAT Vaccine a few days ago. Prior to running the update I deleted the system32/wat dir the vaccine created. I ran the update and it failed. I then used system restore from before I used the vaccine. Running the update now claims the update is not applicable. For kicks I tried to download mediaplayer 11 which needs validation and had no problem.
Its Win 7 Ultimate. I downloaded it as professional and modified it to install any version. I paid for the software thru the microsoft store but have never used my licence.
The update starts to run but after @10sec returns the message "This update is not applicable to your computer". Microsoft doesn't love me
i was having trouble installing that upate and tried it in compatibility mode then i was getting the same message you are getting ... but then i installed it with the standalone package and it was fine
I have had no success with either WindowsActivationUpdate.exe or Windows6.1-KB971033-64x.msu If my system says it's inapplicable then I guess I'm ok.
