I've been running flawlessly with an AMI modded bios with Lenovo slic 2.1 (made from the AMI tool posted here). Always passed WGA. Now after attempting to download the XP Mode tool, it forced me to install WAT -- thus resulting in not genuine. How is WAT determining that I'm not genuine? Is it my bios mod? I've modded the bios again, this time with an ASUS bin and ASUS cert ... no luck ... still not genuine. The removeWAT tool does work for me for the time being, but I would like to try to get back to where I was before, where it believed I was OEM. Can someone kindly point me in the right direction so I can better understand as to if the problem lies in the bios mod itself? Thanks.
TRY Daz's loader(if you haven't already) & then see if you pass WGA. If you have then uninstall it(DAZ loader), restore WAT using sfc or remove WAT & then install the loader again with a matching combination of slic. If that doesn't work for you either then post your msdiag report here for details.
Use sfc to repair system files(user32.dll in your case) & then reactivate Windows or use a loader & check for genuine status at MS' site, that should it for you. Remember to use a cert with matching slic in Bios & if that still doesn't do it for you post a reply here.
Do you by any chance have Office 2007 installed and activated by keygen? I read somewhere that sometimes Office is the what WAT flagged. Very rarely that Windows activated through BIOS mod flagged as non-genuine with a very few exception that certs & Slp need to match MB BIOS.
Ran sfc on the whole system to no avail. Also installed DAZ loader - still no good. Office 2007 is definitely not genuine (I don't know any better method of making it look legit). Could that be causing Windows to become non-genuine?
My setup is basically the same as yours (Asus board, modded BIOS, no loaders) but my MGA BIOS Information is very different, although I have no idea if that is causing your validation failure. Mine validates at the MS site. Mine: OEM Activation 2.0 Data--> BIOS valid for OA 2.0: yes Windows marker version: 0x20001 OEMID and OEMTableID Consistent: yes BIOS Information: ACPI Table NameOEMID ValueOEMTableID Value APIC_ASUS_APIC1413 FACP_ASUS_Notebook HPET_ASUS_OEMHPET MCFG_ASUS_OEMMCFG SLIC_ASUS_Notebook OEMB_ASUS_OEMB1413 SSDTA M I POWERNOW Yours: OEM Activation 2.0 Data--> BIOS valid for OA 2.0: yes Windows marker version: 0x20001 OEMID and OEMTableID Consistent: yes BIOS Information: ACPI Table Name OEMID Value OEMTableID Value APIC _ASUS_ OEMAPIC FACP _ASUS_ Notebook SLIC _ASUS_ Notebook OEMB _ASUS_ OEMBIOS
Run the following command in an elevated cmd prompt Code: icacls C:\Windows\system32\Wat\WatAdminSvc.exe /grant *S-1-1-0:F Then validate at microsoft.
Somehow I'm back in business. I'm not quite sure how or why. I think when I originally attempted to install WAT, it failed, thus causing me all the grief. I followed all the steps by MasterDisaster... still was having some issues. I then uninstalled KB971033, rebooted, re-downloaded KB971033, installed, and then I passed WGA online. Go figure. Thanks to all for the phenomenal help!
