i run comodo firewall,i was away from the computer for a while, came back and the warning had popped up in comodo about this service trying to connect to the internet.

    i blocked it.
i am running w7ult 64bit,with dazloader, not sure which version,os has been installed for 6 months or so.

are there any steps i can take to disable this service from calling home??
    thanks

    See? I told you :D

Remove WAT removes that whole nonsense activation nagging. Now you're fine :)

thnx for your help so far.

    5. Click the activation prompt to follow the official steps to validate your windows
    6. Click the option to download the Microsoft
    file to re-validate your windows
the 2 steps above did not occur upon reboot after running remove wat!?

So you were using Daz's method to act*vate, all you had to do was simply uninstall the KB971033 (WAT) update then check for updates again & hide it, there was no need to use RemoveWAT.

Currently the KB971033 (WAT) update isn't even a problem against Daz's method.

I suggest you follow section 4 (The RemoveWAT Heading) of this post - http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/8632-Windows-Loader-The-Official-Thread?p=121013#post121013

After all is done if you don't want KB971033 (The Windows Update that runs the watadminsvc.exe), simply hide it as previously said ;)

What he said. Now your installation is ruined with RemoveWAT, when all you needed to do was uninstall KB971033
