I used the cpu fan connector for the water cooler the sensor for the cpu tells the fan how fast to run or in your case how fast the pump has to run to keep the cpu cool I assume you plan to over clock it which will cause it to run hotter and the sensor will tell the pump to run faster to keep it cool.
