I have a flash drive and seagate usb-hdd, both on USB3.0 and both work fine in any usb port.
I also have two different cords for usb-hdd, the situation is identical...
Stupid WD works only in ports 2.0, with any cable, but itself is 3.0 ...also but the light is on...
what is the problem and how to solve it ??
google give only stupid answers like change cable or "go devmgmt and give it letter"..devmgmt dont see it////

win10x64-LTSC clean installed, with all drivers..no viruses no stupid staff..

Could be a issue with your 3.0 usb port maybe outdated drivers or the port HW itself is damaged look inside make sure the connector pins are not broken or bent in any way, also go into the bios make sure is enable.

Even if he is not using the 3.0 blue cables if he plugs it in the 3.0 port it should still detect the HD
