Hi all recently when opening a web pages i have been getting a weird crackling audio sound! and it's really begining to annoy me! anyone here have any idea what the problem may be? i have the latest realtek hd drivers installed and there seem to be no hardware issues everything is working properly!! apart from that annoying crackling sound!!

What version of realtek hd driver your using? 2.49? This is the latest version of the driver... If this is the driver your using better try to downgrade your audio driver and get the hd driver on HP Website...

is it only when opening web pages, or general use, for eg when moving the mouse? Could be a grounding issue.

that used to happen to me in Vista... disabling the effects in the audio control panel helped.

    What browser do you use?

    Have you tried other browsers?
I found IE to do something like this on my old laptop, went to chrome and never looked back.

You may want to disable the Windows sounds, from the sound settings panel - it's the navigation sound.

same here I always disable windows sound the crackling sound generated is random. I am convinced is the onboard driver issue. it happens once or twice 24/7.
