    Hi all,

I have notice that I have a weird folder and files, on my root of my main hdd.
I have read on the web that the long name folder might be from and os update.
    Can someone confirmed this?
Is it okay to delete it?
I also have notice the same folder with similar names on my back up hdd.

    any ideas?

Also got .rnd on root dir of drive c.
    It's also in Windows 8.

The folder looks like a temporary one created when installing updates. Sometimes these don't get deleted.

VMware installs it you can delete it.

P.S. I was talking about the .rnd file not the windows update temp folder.

Yea, this is an absolutely useless folder unless you are installing something at the time. If you install software sometimes and you have a USB hard drive connected, it may sometimes also copy onto there also. Feel free to delete as long as you are not installing
