Well, what do you think about this?

Why MS allows old certs to work on win 7? There is related to upgrade program?

Or they are just lazy to give new certs?

Well I guess they rather focused on the OS stability and features rather than activation.. since if they research new activation will easily beaten anyway... so why bother :p

Because if it was too easy everyone would be doing it.

Who is to say they will work on the final OEM releases.....:D:p

The RTM is to allow the OEMs to adjust accordingly, correct?

They still have the option to change a few files that affect activation for the final public release. Certainly if the whole scheme is finished and just needs to be implemented.

But... manufacturers need to test systems... we are 70-80 days away from public availability...

Maybe 60 from international channels distribution...

And maybe 40 or less from manufacturers with systems ready to ship

And maybe less from OEM disk get pressed

One single bug could make recalls, or similar options, that manufacturers are not happy to deal with :)

appears that if the cert matches the slic it works on all if you use a slp key for that os. just the slic version matters. might be wrong but the old dell cert and slic 2.1 activates the same on win7, w2k8, vista.
